Feeling Inspired From a Wedding Gift

This past weekend I got married. From one of the gifts we received, I am feeling inspired to create new pieces of work and I am extremely intrigued on to how to use a lathe! My mother’s friend, Scarlette Rouse, is a phenomenal wood turner and created this candle holder out of some of Crystal/Oceanic Pier wood I have been creating my artwork on. The piece is absolutely stunning and the photo does not do it justice. My artwork always leaves me pleasantly surprised with how “pretty” old pier wood can become with some TLC, but what Scarlette was able to create is just awe inspiring. Thank you, Scarlette, for not only gifting us with this beautiful piece but also gifting me with some fresh inspiration!
